Traffic Engineer –  Location: Sheffield (Hybrid Working) Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 + benefits Company: Independent Transport & Infrastructure Consultancy A respected transport and infrastructure consultancy with a growing reputation for delivering practical, creative, and sustainable design solutions is seeking a Traffic Engineer with 2–6 years’ experience to join their expanding team in Sheffield. The Role You’ll play a key role in developing traffic and transport solutions for a diverse range of projects, from new residential and commercial developments to regeneration and infrastructure schemes. The position offers hands-on technical design work alongside client engagement and the opportunity to progress quickly within a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare transport assessments, travel plans, and junction capacity modelling . Undertake and analyse traffic surveys, feasibility studies, and access design . Use software such as AutoCAD, Junctions 10 (PICADY/ARCADY), LinSig, and TRICS . Support the design of traffic management measures, road layouts, and active travel schemes. Liaise with local authorities and clients to support planning submissions and approvals. Contribute to the delivery of innovative and sustainable transport solutions. Requirements 2–6 years’ experience in transport planning or traffic engineering. Experience producing technical reports and supporting planning applications. Knowledge of relevant design standards (DMRB, MfS, TSRGD, etc.). Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Junctions 10, LinSig, or TRICS advantageous. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
