Electrical Engineer - Building Services
Your new company A well-established and highly regarded building services consultancy based in Magherafelt is seeking to appoint an Electrical Engineer at Intermediate or Senior level as part of its continued growth. This is a design‑focused role within an MEP consultancy environment, offering exposure to a varied project portfolio across the UK & Ireland and strong long-term career development prospects. Your new role The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of electrical building services designs from concept through to construction, commissioning and handover, working closely with mechanical engineers, BIM teams and senior leadership. Key responsibilities include: Design and development of electrical building services systems in line with client briefs and project requirements Preparation of design reports, specifications, drawings, schedules and technical documentation Carrying out and reviewing electrical calculations, ensuring compliance with current standards and regulations Reviewing work produced by junior engineers and providing technical support and mentoring Supporting senior engineers and associates in the delivery and management of projects Involvement in pre‑design costing, design development, and preparation of tender documentation and reports Attendance at project meetings and undertaking site inspections during installation, commissioning and handover stages Ensuring full compliance with internal QA, environmental, health & safety and project management procedures What you'll need to succeed This role would suit an Electrical Engineer with experience in a building services consultancy or design‑led contractor environment, who is keen to work on technically challenging projects within a collaborative team. Air Conditioning / Refrigeration Installation Engineer - Manchester - £40,000 Location: Mobile – North West Salary: Up to £40,000 basic + discretionary annual bonus Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 The Company We are working with a well-established, privately owned, family-run building services contractor based in Preston, with over 80 years’ experience in the HVAC industry. The company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality installations and maintenance across a wide range of commercial sectors. They operate within a 40-mile radius of Preston and have a team of 30 mobile engineers supported by a dedicated office-based team. Around 75% of their work is in the education sector (including universities, academies, and PFI schools), with the remaining 25% across car showrooms, offices, churches, sheltered housing, fire stations, and leisure centres. The Role As an Air Conditioning / Refrigeration Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation of a wide range of air conditioning systems, including: Split systems VRF / VRV systems Ducted units HVRF systems Air source heat pumps and associated mechanical plant This is a mobile role covering commercial sites across the North West. The ideal candidate will be based in or around Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington or East Lancashire.
