Energy, Environmental and Sustainability Manager
Your new company Hays are working with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service to source an Energy, Environmental and Sustainability Manager. NIAS operate from 46 stations across Northern Ireland within the five Health and Social Care Trust areas; Belfast, South Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern Trust. Your new role This is a full-time temporary contract for an initial period of 6 months based from NIAS headquarters at Knockbracken Health Care Park, Saintfield Road, Belfast. You will be a key member of the Specialist Services Team within Estate Services and will be expected to play a full role in the provision, development and management of all Energy/Environment related activities within NIAS. Some of the key responsibilities include: Provide specialist knowledge and experience of energy management, environmental management, sustainability management, utilities procurement and take the lead role in ensuring the Trust meets its statutory obligations in these areas. Implement, review, and develop a comprehensive Energy and Environmental Management Strategy Manage legislative requirements relating to Energy and the Environment To provide expert advice on the NIAS Estate Strategy You will report to the Head of Specialist Services and be technically and professionally responsible for ensuring and complying with all Statutory Standards, Codes of Practice, Health & Safety Guidance, Health Technical Memoranda, Building Notes and other Government Agencies and Local Authority requirements.A full job description is available on request. What you'll need to succeed To be eligible for this position you must possess a University Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering, or similar related to the Built Environment, together with 3 years energy/environmental management experience. OR A HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering together with 5 years energy/environmental management experience. Hold a full UK driving licence with access to a car. What you'll get in return This is a Band 7 position, paying £46,146 pa pro rata. 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. 27 days annual leave plus 10 stat days. Free on-site car parking.
