Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

What they are looking for: Minimum of 5 years’ industry experience in a consultancy environment. Experience of managing and developing project engineering teams. Ability to act as Project Manager reviewing mechanical designs for a range of projects. Develop project scope with design team / clients including budgeting and reporting. Implement and oversee successful design solutions for Projects. Supporting the management team, oversee resource management and planning to ensure successful Project delivery. Mentoring and development of Junior Engineering staff. With support of the leadership team, assist in the preparation of bids and fee submissions. What you’ll be doing: Perform the role of Senior Engineer and project lead on projects. Take lead role on projects, including mechanical design, project management, attendance at design team meetings and site meetings, and responsibility for project delivery. Report back to management on progress of current projects. Oversee resource management of junior engineers and CAD/BIM technicians to ensure deadlines are met. Perform site visits and technical surveys of existing electrical installations and recommend potential solutions to improve systems. Deliver technical presentations, reports, specifications, etc. Support marketing activities to promote the company. Provide mentoring of junior engineering staff. Building Performance Engineer

Building Physics Consultant - To £40K + Package Finish work each day feeling great that you've helped tackle the climate emergency and that you're doing your bit, to help save our planet for future generations. This specialist Sustainability Consultancy offers a turn-key integrated solution to their clients. They cover everything from Passivhaus studies, Dynamic Thermal Modelling, BREEAM and LEED, HVAC Design, Thermal Bridging studies, Airtight testing, Energy statements to Project Management and can even specify and supply a range of renewable energy technologies to use on projects. Rather than just designing a project, they plan, manage and oversee the construction or refurbishment process and also provide POE's and measurement and verification of energy savings. This is a hybird role; and they ask that you attend the office twice a week. You'll be responsible for helping their clients achieve low energy and low-cost buildings while improving occupant comfort and overall health and well-being. Key tasks Building Physics modelling (Daylight, overheating studies, dynamic thermal modelling etc) of new build and complex refurbishment projects. Partnering with architects and helping bring their ideas and visions to life. Undertaking R&D inro new or emerging technologies. Using IES, PHPP, SAP, Excel or Grasshopper to model and predict a buildings energy use. Championing low energy building design.
