CIBSE CPD - Legionella Awareness Training
Training will fulfil the requirement for those responsible to have introductory knowledge on the main aspects of legionella and Legionnaires’ disease, and to understand their role or can equally be used as a refresher to previous training that may have been undertaken.
This training aims to inform an understanding of Legionella bacteria as well as the responsibilities required to remain legally compliant.
It is aimed at duty holders and appointed persons responsible for your sites. Delegates will most likely be either:
Senior management
Health & Safety managers
Site Engineers with specific responsibility for water
Facility and Contract managers
On completion 3 CIBSE CPD points are provided along with a certificate of attendance.

John Sandford - over 20 years practical and research experience in the field of water treatment and Legionella control. He is a specialist in the field of water hygiene and scald control in building services environment with specific expertise in application of the HSE's ACoP L8 and NHS Estates Health Guidance HTM 04/01, water regulations compliance and swimming pool water treatment and control.
John formed SMS Environmental Ltd in 2001 and has led the company to UKAS accreditations in Quality ISO 9001, Environment ISO 14001 and Health and Safety to BS OHSAS 18001.
He acts as a consultant for County Councils, Universities, Government Departments and Housing Associations
He has a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, MSc Water and Waster Water Engineering, BSc (Hons) Building Processes and an HNC Water and Environmental Management
John is a full member of the Water Management Society
