This CPD explores the engineering principles that influence the performance of air handling units beyond minimum compliance. It examines how construction standards, pressure drop, specific fan power, heat recovery, filtration, controls and maintenance affect energy efficiency, indoor air quality and lifecycle cost. Delegates will gain an understanding of how engineering judgement can be applied alongside standards such as EN 1886, EN 13053, ErP and Part L to optimise ventilation system performance.
