1. Designing with Large Delta T Heat Pumps - With the increasing demand for low carbon heating solutions, heat pumps are becoming a key technology in the decarbonisation of buildings and heat networks. This seminar provides an insight into the design principles behind large delta T heat pump systems and explores how their integration can improve efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and support the transition towards flexible energy systems. 2. Lean System Design (LSD) for Schools and Commercial Buildings - The CPD outlines a comprehensive design strategy for heating, domestic hot water, and ventilation systems, emphasising the importance of ensuring that schools and commercial buildings are designed to be heat network ready and how that can be delivered. The CPD will also provide real-life examples and scenarios. 3. Minimising School Capital Plant with MVHR - his CPD explores the relationship between ventilation strategy and the size and cost of the heating plant in schools. Traditionally, building services have treated ventilation and heating as separate systems. However, when designing low carbon buildings, particularly with heat pumps, these systems become highly interdependent. 4. Achieving Passivhaus & BB101 Standards for School Ventilation - The CPD is designed to demonstrate that by linking Passivhaus standards and those of BB101, we can achieve schools with much lower carbon footprints, whilst discussing the merits of the guidance in these documents. 5. An Introduction to 4G Heat Networks - The CPD session covers the contribution made by Heat Networks and their interconnection with the Electricity Grid. It also outlines the integration of renewables and how to go about storing energy efficiently in order to solve the Energy Trilemma. 6. Getting Regulation Ready, Heat Network Metering Strategy - The route to efficient and low cost heat networks is through proper monitoring. Learn about the current state of regulation coming to the UK in regard to metering. The CPD covers the basics of how to design the metering strategy to comply with these upcoming requirements, and the best way to utilise the data received. 7. BESA & Beyond Field Evidence from 10,000 HIUs - This CPD presents field evidence gathered from over 10,000 Heat Interface Units (HIUs) deployed across UK heat networks, comparing real-world performance against laboratory test conditions defined under the BESA HIU Test Regime. This CPD is relevant to engineers, specifiers, consultants and asset manager working with heat networks and HIUs.
