Hannah Gray, Winner
Hannah Gray, University of Edinburgh & Foster + Partners
Hannah Gray graduated with First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering (MEng) from the University of Edinburgh. She completed an 8-month placement and now works at Foster + Partners. She received the Services to Sport Prize 2024, competed for the Scottish Alpine Ski Team, and represented British Universities internationally. Hannah is a STEM ambassador, mentor's students, and manages a mechanical forum to support graduate development and industry engagement.

Andrea Mackenzie, University of Bath & Fairheat
Andrea Mackenzie joined FairHeat as a Graduate Engineer in 2023, after completing her Chemical Engineering Master's degree with a placement year from the University of Bath. She has worked in Optimisation, Quality Assurance, and District Heating Design. Andrea has optimised heat networks, assisted with retrofit design, assessed decarbonisation applications, created an early cost estimation tool, and is currently researching the potential use of load banks in heat networks.
Rachael Gilbert, 3rd Place
Rachael Gilbert, University of Lancashire & Troup Bywaters + Anders
Rachael Gilbert is a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at TB+A, WiBSE Northwest Lead, and Co-Chair of Building Equality (Greater Manchester). After building a career in heritage, she retrained in her late 20s and graduated with first-class honours from UCLan. Her dissertation explored heritage and sustainability. Through her apprenticeship, she’s worked on healthcare, education, and cultural projects, and advocates for inclusion in the built environment through WiBSE and Building Equality

Ritika Maladkar
Ritika Maladkar is a Graduate Building Services Engineer at Laing O’Rourke and a First-Class MEng graduate in Architectural Environment Engineering from the University of Nottingham, where she graduated top of her class. Her EPSRC-sponsored dissertation explored deep learning for indoor mould detection using visual and thermal imaging. Ritika combines technical excellence, analytical thinking, and social responsibility, and is committed to driving innovation in sustainable design and healthier indoor environments.

Serra Ardor
Serra Ardor, with a multidisciplinary background in architecture, is pursuing a Master’s in Environmental Design and Engineering at UCL. Passionate about sustainability and environmental responsibility, her work bridges technical performance with human-centred design. She integrates occupant-focused principles to ensure comfort, accessibility, and well-being. Serra’s approach combines rigorous environmental analysis with sensitivity to lived experience, driving innovative, empathetic designs that promote building performance, inclusion, and environmental equality.

Lucy Kedian, Level 3 - 4 Winner
Lucy Kedian
Lucy is a dedicated and hard-working professional who joined the CPW Apprenticeship scheme in 2023. She specialises in Public Health Systems while studying at University College Birmingham. Her projects include a grade II listed community centre, a 20-storey 5-star hotel, and snagging for Birmingham’s tallest residential building. Passionate about sustainable engineering, Lucy recently presented on wastewater heat recovery and is highly regarded for supporting apprentices and sharing knowledge.
Isobel Powers, Level 3-4 Runner-Up
Isobel Powers
Isobel joined WSP’s Property & Buildings team in September 2024 as an Undergraduate Building Services Engineer, specialising in mechanical design. She is gaining experience on a life sciences and healthcare project in Oxford while studying at Coventry University. Isobel brings a strong work ethic and excellent problem-solving skills. She is a committee member of the NextGen Healthcare Networking Forum and actively participates in WSP’s YMEP group, supporting early-career development.

Adia Sadeqee
A Mechanical Degree Apprentice at MZA Consulting Engineers, they are developing engineering skills through academic study and real-world experience. Working on live projects builds technical confidence and professional awareness. Passionate about innovation, sustainability, and problem-solving, they apply design knowledge to support net-zero goals. With a deep interest in low-carbon technologies, they are committed to delivering energy-efficient, climate-conscious solutions that help shape a more sustainable built environment.
Callum Chamberlain, Level 5-7 Runner Up
Callum Chamberlain
Callum Chamberlain joined Building Services as an Apprentice with UWE two years ago, working on Defence, Commercial, Residential, and Healthcare projects as part of an MEP team. With previous experience as an Electrical Installer, he contributed detailed electrical calculations to large-scale projects like St John’s Wood Square and The Cavendish Hotel, London. Alongside project work, Callum actively engages in STEAM and social activities to promote the construction industry.
