As Margaret Dolan retires from the building services industry, Pat Lehane presented her with a bouquet on behalf of CIBSE Ireland in recognition of her outstanding contribution.
Margaret has given many years of service to CIBSE Ireland. She became Secretary in 2007 and Chair in 2010, making history as the first woman to hold the role. At a time when women were still underrepresented in the industry, she helped pave the way for those who followed.
Her contribution extends well beyond CIBSE Ireland. Throughout her career, Margaret held senior roles with leading companies and earned the respect of colleagues across the building services sector. In 2007, she received the CIBSE Bronze Medal for her services to the industry. Her technical expertise, attention to detail and leadership have shaped complex projects, while her willingness to support new technologies and innovation has helped move the industry forward.
Many engineers have also benefited from Margaret’s mentorship and guidance. Her work has been recognised through shortlisting in the Women in Construction category at the Irish Construction Awards and the Women in Engineering category at the Engineering Excellence Awards.
We thank Margaret for her remarkable service and wish her every happiness in retirement. We have a feeling she will continue to play an active role in the industry.
