YEN MENA was proudly represented at the CIBSE YEN Global Gala & Conference 2026 in Newcastle by Aishwarya Chengappa, serving as the CIBSE YEN Global Chair, alongside Bushra Siddiqua Oosman, Chair of CIBSE YEN MENA, and Gareth Samson, Vice Chair of CIBSE YEN MENA.
Hosted by CIBSE YEN North East, the event brought together YEN representatives from across the globe for a weekend of knowledge sharing, networking, and collaboration. From celebrating together at the Gala to exchanging lessons learned, discussing committee initiatives, and exploring ideas for the year ahead, the conference provided a unique opportunity for young engineering leaders to connect and learn from one another.
The programme also included technical visits and industry engagement opportunities, allowing attendees to gain valuable insight into different areas of the profession while strengthening relationships across the global YEN network.
One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity to share the work being undertaken by YEN MENA, while learning from the successes and challenges of other regions. These conversations continue to play an important role in helping committees develop new ideas, improve member engagement, and create greater value for young engineers within their local regions.
The event was a fantastic reminder of the strength of the global YEN community and the impact that can be achieved when passionate volunteers come together with a shared goal of supporting the next generation of building services engineers. We look forward to building on these connections and bringing new ideas back to the MENA region over the coming year. 💙
