Earth Tube Systems: Tempering Fresh Air in a Canadian Climate

Session 4, Poster 3, CIBSE ASHRAE Technical Symposium, Dublin, Ireland, 3-4 April 2014

The authors presented an initial paper at the CIBSE Technical Symposium, 2011 that investigated potential benefits and risks of earth coupled systems (Butler et al, 2011). Between 2011 and 2013, the author has developed seven earth tube projects in Canada - each having a different scale, size and application.
This poster provides a first update on the monitored empirical performance data of these systems and draws together knowledge gained through twenty years of consulting engineering experience combined with the research degree being undertaken at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
