NABERS UK Licensed Assessor Training Course
NABERS UK Assessor 101
NABERS UK Assessor 101 is the introduction of the NABERS UK rating tool, the assessor pathway and the role and responsibility of the NABERS UK assessor in conducting ratings for buildings.
Assessor 101 provides an understanding of the context of NABERS UK ratings, its benefits, and the knowledge and skills needed to effectively conduct NABERS UK ratings.
The course covers:
- What is NABERS UK?
- Why use NABERS UK energy ratings?
- The Rules and the rating process
- Quality control
- The role of a licensed assessor
- Meet those already working with NABERS
The course includes a multiple-choice exam that must be completed (score 80% or more) before moving to the next course.

- Understand the NABERS UK programme
- Understand the process of achieving a NABERS UK rating
- Know the auditing process involved
- Understand what a NABERS UK Assessor does
NABERS UK Metering & Consumption (MAC)
This course is designed for anyone looking to become a NABERS UK Licensed Assessor and is one of three prerequisite courses.
NABERS UK Metering & Consumption (MAC) details the requirements, collection and treatment of metering and consumption data when conducting ratings for buildings.
Metering & Consumption provides an understanding of what information must be gathered, how it treated within a rating, carrying out the site visit to collect the information and what evidence must be retained in the event of a Level 2 audit.
The course covers:
- Supply points and minimum coverage
- Non-utility metering systems
- Conducting a site visit
- Documentation requirements
The course includes a multiple-choice exam that must be completed (score 80% or more) before moving to the next course.
Learning Outcomes:
- Learn what energy sources should be included
- Know how to read a single-line diagram and reticulation diagrams
- Understand non-utility metering systems and how they impact NABERS UK ratings
- Understand what a site visit includes
- Know what documentation and evidence is required with regards to metering and consumption data
NABERS UK Energy for Offices
This course is designed for anyone looking to become a NABERS UK Licensed Assessor and is one of three prerequisite courses.
NABERS UK Energy for Offices provides specific knowledge for conducting ratings on UK office buildings.
Energy for Offices provides an understanding of the key data inputs required for an Energy for Office rating, the scope of an Energy for Office rating, how to determine rated area and rated hours, determining occupied workstation counts and specific tips for conduct office site visits.
The course covers:
- Energy coverage
- Determining the rated area
- Calculating hours
- Determining the occupied workstation count
- Site visits
- Practice creating a rating
The course includes a multiple-choice exam that must be completed (score 80% or more) to be eligible for licensing as a NABERS UK assessor and conduct ratings.
Learning Outcomes:
- Learn what energy end uses to include and exclude from a NABERS UK office rating
- Know how to calculate the rated area for a NABERS UK office rating
- Know how to calculate the rated hours for a NABERS UK office rating
- Know how to conduct the occupied workstation count for a NABERS UK office rating
- Understand what to check at a site visit for a NABERS UK office rating
The on demand training course consists of three modules with assessments, with two attempts per assessment only allowed. You have to pass the 1st one to attempt the 2nd, same goes to the 3rd.
