CIBSE is pleased to announce that Sebastian Taylor Aguilar has been awarded The Worshipful Company of Fan Makers CIBSE Bursary for the 2025/26 year.
The bursary is provided through The Worshipful Company of Fan Makers in long-standing association with CIBSE. It is awarded to students who demonstrate strong academic achievement and the potential to make a meaningful contribution to the building services engineering profession.
This support is intended to encourage the development of future talent within the sector, helping recipients further their studies and engage with the wider professional community.
This year’s recipient, Sebastian Taylor Aguilar, is in the final stages of his degree apprenticeship at London South Bank University and is on track to graduate with a first-class degree, reflecting his strong academic performance and commitment to engineering excellence. Alongside his studies, Sebastian works as an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer at MCA Consulting Engineers, balancing professional responsibilities with continued academic achievement.
Sebastian is also actively involved in Generation for Change (G4C), where he serves as a Young Professional Ambassador. In this role, he promotes careers in engineering by engaging with local colleges, attending careers fairs, and supporting structured work experience opportunities for aspiring engineers.
In addition to his professional and academic commitments, Sebastian served as a Sapper in the Army Reserves with the Royal Engineers (65 Works Group), an experience that has further developed his discipline, teamwork and leadership skills.
Sebastian is a highly deserving recipient of the bursary and has expressed his enthusiasm for engaging with both CIBSE and the Worshipful Company of Fan Makers, valuing the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and connect with the wider engineering community.
