CIBSE is pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Bishop FCIBSE as the new Chair of the CIBSE Domestic Building Services Panel (DBSP).
A Chartered Mechanical Engineer and CIBSE Fellow, Laura brings more than 25 years of experience across advanced manufacturing, energy systems and large-scale decarbonisation infrastructure. She is Co-founder and Director of Hillside Infinitas, a project development company delivering integrated low-carbon energy schemes incorporating heat pumps, heat networks, solar PV and battery storage.
Throughout her career, Laura has held senior engineering roles at E.ON and founded Infinitas Design, a consultancy specialising in large-scale heat pump and heat network projects. She is also Co-Chair and Director of the Heat Pump Association UK, where she works closely with government and industry to support the deployment of heat pumps across the UK.
Widely recognised for her expertise in heat pump integration and the practical delivery of large-scale electrification of heat, Laura has been a strong advocate for low-carbon heating solutions and the decarbonisation of the UK's housing stock.
Commenting on her appointment, Laura said:
"Having chaired the Ground Source Heat Pump Association (GSHPA) for several years, I was keen to apply my experience of leading industry groups to the CIBSE Domestic Building Services Panel. I look forward to working collaboratively with panel members and CIBSE to strengthen the group's voice and support the transition to low-carbon heating across the UK's housing stock".
The Domestic Building Services Panel plays an important role in supporting CIBSE's work across the residential sector, providing technical expertise and helping to shape guidance, knowledge and best practice for domestic building services.
Laura's appointment comes at a pivotal time for the industry as the UK continues its transition towards low-carbon heating and more sustainable homes. Her extensive experience across engineering, policy and industry leadership will help support the Panel's ongoing contribution to advancing good practice and delivering the skills and knowledge needed to meet future challenges.
CIBSE looks forward to working with Laura as the Panel continues to support the Institution's mission and contribute to the decarbonisation of the UK's residential buildings sector.
