CIBSE is pleased to announce that two of its events have been accepted as part of the official programme for London Climate Action Week (LCAW) 2026, taking place from 20–28 June.
London Climate Action Week harnesses the power of London for global and local climate action. Hosted by E3G, it is one of the world's largest independent climate events, bringing together more than 75,000 people across over 750 events each year. The programme provides a platform for organisations, policymakers, industry leaders and communities to share knowledge, showcase innovation and accelerate action towards a more sustainable future.
As part of this year's programme, CIBSE will host two events focused on climate resilience, building performance and the role of data in supporting the transition to a low-carbon built environment.
Future-proofing the built environment: Climate data and action
Date: 23 June 2026
Time: 14:00–15:00
Format: Online webinar
This webinar will explore CIBSE's latest Climate Action Plan and the development of future weather files to support climate-resilient building design.
Presented by Julie Godefroy, CIBSE Head of Net Zero, and Jasmine Ng, CIBSE Environmental Data Scientist, the session will examine how CIBSE continues to embed climate action across its activities and support the wider built environment sector in responding to climate change.
The webinar will provide an update on the evolution of CIBSE's Climate Action Plan since its introduction in 2019 and the complementary action plan developed for consultancies and other organisations. It will also highlight the latest developments in future weather file generation, including the use of UKCP18 climate projections and ongoing work to expand weather file coverage internationally.
As buildings face increasing risks from rising temperatures and extreme weather events, future weather files are becoming an essential tool for ensuring long-term building resilience and performance.
TM39 Building metering and monitoring
Date: 25 June 2026
Time: 17:30–20:00
Format: Hybrid (in-person and online)
CIBSE will also officially launch the updated TM39: Building Metering and Monitoring during London Climate Action Week 2026.
Presented by Ellen Salazar, CIBSE Head of Building Engineering, the event will introduce the latest edition of TM39, which represents a major revision of the industry's leading guidance on metering.
Since the publication of the previous edition in 2009, building metering technologies and data capabilities have evolved significantly. The updated TM39 expands its scope beyond electricity and gas metering to include thermal, water and steam meters, while also introducing new guidance on stakeholder engagement, meter selection, communications architecture, installation, commissioning and data analytics.
The event will provide attendees with an overview of the revised guidance and practical insights into how it can be applied to improve building performance, compliance and operational efficiency.
Supporting climate action through knowledge and collaboration
Through its participation in London Climate Action Week 2026, CIBSE continues to support the exchange of knowledge and best practice across the built environment sector. Both events highlight the important role of data, performance monitoring and climate resilience in helping the industry respond to the challenges of climate change and achieve net zero ambitions.
Members and industry professionals are encouraged to attend and take part in these discussions as we work together to create a more sustainable and resilient built environment.
Further information and registration details for both events can be found through the London Climate Action Week programme and the CIBSE events calendar.
