The Society of Façade Engineers (SFE) has now formed an Australia and New Zealand hub.
For those less familiar with SFE, the Society works to advance knowledge and practice in facade engineering, promote good practice and ensure that today's increasingly complex building façades meet the many and varying performance criteria. In particular, it addresses the complex issues in the building physics of thermal insulation, ventilation, lighting, solar control, and acoustics.
The ANZ hub was formed by a passionate group of Façade engineers keen to promote good practice and professional guidance in façade engineering and to provide professional recognition to those active in façade engineering, in the region.
It is intended that the ANZ hub will form a network where people interested in all aspects of facade engineering can come together, connecting the creators and users of Façade information in the built environment.
Working alongside the CIBSE chapter committees, the ANZ hub intends to serve the membership by hosting façade related technical events, and walking tours as well as hosting other forums for knowledge sharing.
The ANZ SFE hub also aims to help develop a national standard to assess skills and competence in façade and help to develop pathways to become recognized as a façade engineer in Australia and New Zealand.
