This CPD course provides a concise, practice-focused briefing on BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition) Amendment 4 (2026) and what it means for design, specification, installation, inspection and verification. It explains the implementation timeline (publication and transition period) and highlights where the changes will most affect live projects, contractor delivery, and verification documentation.
The session concentrates on the four headline updates introduced by Amendment 4:
- Stationary secondary batteries (energy storage) – new Chapter 57
- Functional earthing & equipotential bonding for ICT systems – Section 545
- Power over Ethernet (PoE) – new Section 716
- Medical locations – major revision to Section 710
Content will be delivered in a clear “what changed / why it matters / what to do differently” format, with practical examples and a simple change-checklist for immediate workplace use.

- Summarise the main changes in Section 710 medical locations, including the focus on earthing/bonding/continuity and the implications for verification and records.

Remote - How to join:
This course will be conducted live online via Microsoft Teams. You do not need a Microsoft Teams account. After finalising your booking, you will receive a confirmation email containing a link to join the session.
You can join using your preferred web browser. Alternatively, if you have the Microsoft Teams desktop app installed, simply click 'join meeting' in the email to connect directly through the app.
Face-to-Face:
The course location will be listed below the corresponding date and included in your booking confirmation email, sent after your booking is finalised. Please arrive at the location 15 minutes before the start time.
Note that face-to-face courses are not available online, so your in-person attendance is required.

The course presentation and any additional materials will be provided to delegates on the day of the course, once attendance has been confirmed.
