This training follows the release of CIBSE TM65 Embodied carbon of building services: a calculation methodology. The aim of this TM was to create a simple calculation methodology to calculate embodied carbon of MEP equipment when no Environmental Product Declarations is available.

This training will present how to implement the guidance from TM65 into the design process as well as present some worked examples. Tips on how to implement this guidance further will also be shared.

Lecturer

Siegfried is currently a Senior Lecturer in Building Services Engineering at School of the Built Environment and Architecture, London South Bank University (LSBU). Prior to joining LSBU, he was an Assistant Professor in Building Services Engineering/Building Physics at the University of Nottingham’s overseas campus in China. Siegfried has over 15 years research and teaching experience in Building Services Engineering. He has a PhD in Engineering (Sustainable Energy Technologies) from the University of Nottingham. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), qualified Advance HE External Examiner, a Chartered Engineer, and a Member of CIBSE (MCIBSE).
