The Building Performance Consultancy of the Year Award is split into three categories, by total number of employees (globally):
- up to 50 employees
- 51-300 employees
- over 300 employees
This Award recognises the consultancy that has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to delivering buildings that have high levels of measured building performance and user satisfaction throughout their operating life. .
Who should enter
Building services consultancies
- Entries in these categories are welcome from UK based or international building services consultancies with up to 50, 51- 300 or over 300 staff employed across all job roles.
- Entries should be based on consultancy services delivered during the period 1 September 2019 to 31 August 2021.
- Entries should be accompanied by testimonials from clients, contractors and other supply chain partners.
The judges will be looking for:
An overview of your organisation and how it is improving the performance of buildings include your contribution to moving the “net zero carbon” agenda forward.
Examples of how you foster effective collaboration between your staff and other organisations in the project team. Specifically highlight the tools and process you have found to support successful collaboration.
Examples of what strategies and initiatives are in place to champion diversity, inclusion and equality and show inclusive employment within your organisation
Examples of how you ensure that effective commissioning, handover and post occupancy evaluation take place on projects and what measurement tools are used.
Examples of innovation from your organisation in the design, refurbishment, operation, maintenance and end of life of buildings.
How you have overcome any particular challenges or barriers to delivering excellent building performance.
Investment in your staff to offer clients a better building performance service.
Evidence of how have you acquired, developed and transferred knowledge and experience of building performance within your consultancy or across the industry.
Evidence of client and occupant satisfaction with completed projects and testimonials from other partners such as contractors, and other participants in the supply chain.
Examples of how you have improved building performance of projects through the use of measurement tools such as DECs, ESOS reports, NABERS, CIBSE TM22, Soft Landings, Carbon Buzz entries or other post occupancy evaluation tools.
Entries must be accompanied by testimonials from clients and other partners such as contractors, and other participants in the supply chain.
Entries should demonstrate how the organisation meets client requirements and set out how they deliver engineering excellence, sustainable construction and operation and energy efficient performance.
Entries will describe how the organisation supports delivery of these objectives through its processes, training and development, and adoption of new technologies and ways of working. It will provide recent evidence of customer satisfaction and of current practical use of building performance measurement tools such as DECs, ESOS reports, CIBSE TM22, Soft Landings or other post occupancy evaluation tools and CarbonBuzz entries.
