Book NowFor a long time, hygrothermal simulations, often called dew point or interstitial condensation assessments, have lived quietly in the shadow of ISO 13788. Cheap and easy for a supplier to pump out at low cost, sure, but is it actually suitable for modern design practice?
This year, Better Building launched an online hygrothermal solver, technically comparable to Delphin or WUFI, so a quick comparison of real risk is now available between the steady-state Glazer method in ISO 13788 and a 10-year dynamic simulation via heat and moisture transfer.
In this presentation, Darren O'Dea, CEO and founder of Better Building, digs into what's actually being left on the table when you reach for a simple, arguably outdated method like Glaser instead of a more complex hygrothermal approach.
Speaker: Darren O'Dea
Over the past 18 years, Darren has built up a wide range of technical and business development expertise across building physics consultancy, from assessment through to delivery and management. He's authored 50+ articles across blogs, media, and publications on building physics and its role in architecture and engineering. He is co-founder and Director of Better Building, a software and consultancy firm focused on developing building physics software for the design industry.
