Since the publication of the previous edition in 2009, building metering technologies and data capabilities have evolved significantly. The updated TM39 expands its scope beyond electricity and gas metering to include thermal, water and steam meters, while also introducing new guidance on stakeholder engagement, meter selection, communications architecture, installation, commissioning and data analytics.

The event will provide attendees with an overview of the revised guidance and practical insights into how it can be applied to improve building performance, compliance and operational efficiency.

Speaker bio

Ellen Salazar, CEng, is the lead author of TM39:2026. She is currently the Head of Building Services Engineering at CIBSE, with a 30-year career that spans consultancy and design‑team work on major developments, energy performance & post‑occupancy evaluations, FM operations, project & change management, along with authoring clear, authoritative technical guidance for the built environment.
