NIRO SIRIWARDENA, Project Manager, Turner and Townsend

Niro is a project manager at Turner and Townsend focusing on the repositioning, refurbishment, and improvement of the energy efficiency of commercial and retail assets. A mechanical engineer by trade, he finds himself getting involved in all aspects of projects in the built environment, from strategic planning all the way through to execution and close-out.

He's a strong believer that excellence in the built environment is achieved through a joint effort in ensuring the spaces we build and occupy are safe, healthy, and are positioned to contribute to a sustainable present and future. With his involvement in the CIBSE Young Engineers Network, he hopes to encourage the next generation of building services engineers to put forward only the best solutions for the built environment.


DR MARK DAVIE Ph.D.,Technical Director, Buildings Mechanical, Aurecon and CIBSE ANZ Chair

Mark is Chair of CIBSE ANZ and Health Leader at Aurecon WA, with expertise in building services and sustainable design. He advocates for high-performing healthcare buildings and empowers built environment professionals through education, research, and knowledge-sharing to advance excellence and innovation across the construction industry.


DAVINA ROONEY, CEO of the Green Building Council of Australia

A property professional with a passion for sustainability, Davina has led the Green Building Council of Australia since 2019. As a qualified engineer, Davina worked on large-scale construction projects in Sydney and London and spent nearly a year building an award-winning school in the Himalayas. Davina devoted a decade to driving sustainability at one of Australia’s largest diversified property companies, Stockland, which culminated in Stockland’s recognition as the world’s most sustainable property company. Davina is on the Board of Evolve Housing and the Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council, as well as Chairing the Sustainable Procurement Roundtable for the Sustainable Built Environment National Research Centre.


DR ARDESHIR SANIEE, Project Lead at Heatwave Mechanical and CIBSE New Zealand Vice Chair

Ardeshir holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and has recently contributed to the design of large-scale health infrastructure systems across Aotearoa. He is actively engaged in research and knowledge-sharing within the building performance sector, including delivering CIBSE training for mechanical services. Ardeshir currently serves as Vice Chair of the CIBSE New Zealand Chapter.

SARA WILKINSON, Professor of Sustainable Property, University of Technology, Sydney

Sara is a Chartered Building Surveyor who started advising client about environmental buildings in 1987. She is Professor of Sustainable Property at UTS where she teaches and conducts research into sustainability in the built environment. Sara enjoys cross disciplinary research and has worked with marine biologists, environmental, building services and structural engineers, business and accounting professionals, construction, property and real estate professionals, and biologists. 


JASON YANG, Senior Sustainability Engineer, Arup

Jason Yang is a Senior Sustainable Building Engineer with 15 years of experience specialising in building sustainability consultancy and analysis. He has extensive expertise in energy consumption analysis, façade optimization, and building environmental assessment, and has led numerous high-profile projects to enhance operational performance and sustainability.
