The theme for the entries this year is Circular Economy - Paying it forward for the future generation - a theme that should resonate with everyone in the industry.
Hear what others in the industry have to say about entering:
CIBSE VIC Chair, James Moyes, said:
“To anyone thinking about entering these awards, my piece of advice is to enter. Everyone has a story, and your experience is more valuable than you think.”
Mario Wellalage, 2024 Student of the Year Award winner, said:
“I think the Young Engineer Awards foster inclusion because anyone can apply. You don't have to be the best student in your cohort. You don't have to be the best engineer. If you know the topic, you should apply. You can win it.”
Want a secret to a winning entry?
Kimberly Lowe, 2025 Young Engineer of the Year Award winner, said:
“I would recommend going down as many rabbit holes about the topic as you can on Google before starting the submission. Not only is it pretty fun, but it will also save you from editing your submission so many times! Also, prioritise having conversations with people in your team about the topics to see what views people have.”
Previous winners have enjoyed increased opportunities and recognition at work, formed valuable industry relationships, managed projects, gained chartered status, and even taken on international experience. Where could this competition take you?
