Chair: Jonny Betts, Mitsubishi Electric

Jonny Betts serves as Project Specification Manager for Data Centres at Mitsubishi Electric, bringing four years of focused expertise in the HVAC sector. During this time, he has contributed to the development of CIBSE industry guidance and provided technical support across a wide range of projects.


In his current role, Jonny works closely with consultants to ensure Data Centre designs are specified with the most appropriate solutions, with a particular emphasis on optimising efficiency and utilisation. His approach combines technical rigour with a practical understanding of the challenges consultants face at the design stage.


Alongside his professional work, Jonny plays an active role within CIBSE, where he has been involved in organising a number of major social and technical events over the past two years.

Vice Chair: Molly Behling, Hilson Moran

Molly Behling is a Mechanical Design Consultant at Hilson Moran and currently serves as Vice Chair of the CIBSE YEN London Region, following her role as Head of Communications (2025/26). She holds a dual BEng in Architecture and Environmental Engineering from UWE Bristol (2023) and is currently undertaking an MSc in Environmental Design and Engineering at UCL on a part-time basis, sponsored by Hilson Moran.


In her role with CIBSE YEN London, Molly supports the Chair in leading the committee and coordinating its various subgroups, including Communications and STEM engagement, while helping to manage the day-to-day operations and promotion of YEN activities. She also contributes to the wider network as Communications Officer for the CIBSE YEN Global Committee.


Molly is passionate about supporting and inspiring the next generation of engineers and is working towards CIBSE Chartership. Professionally, she is particularly involved in sports-focused and urban commercial developments, with a strong emphasis on creating healthy, sustainable, and environmentally responsible spaces.

Past Chair: Zoe Dickson, Hollis

Having studied Mechanical Engineering with International Study in Glasgow, Zoe took a year out to travel before moving to London and joining the building services industry. She currently works at Hollis as a Senior Energy Engineer, bringing her energy management and BMS experience to Hollis’ building optimisation service. Zoe is continually inspired by the energy, enthusiasm and ambition from the young professionals in the CIBSE community, and she is passionate about sustainability and promoting diversity in engineering. Zoe was awarded second place in CIBSE ASHRAE’s Graduate of the Year 2024, and was named BCIA Young Engineer of the Year 2025.

Treasurer: Esther Memeh

Esther Memeh is a Graduate Engineer at Savills M&E Consultancy and serves as Treasurer for the CIBSE YEN London Committee for 2026/27.
Esther graduated from Loughborough University in December 2024 with an MSc in Civil Engineering. Since entering the building services industry, she has developed a growing interest in electrical engineering, bringing a unique perspective from her civil engineering background while expanding her expertise in the design and performance of building systems.


Alongside her role at Savills, Esther joined the CIBSE YEN London Committee as Communications Assistant for 2025/26. During her time on the committee, she helped organise several successful and well-attended events, including the Professional Connections networking event and the INWED Sip and Paint celebration.


Outside of work, Esther is a passionate advocate for STEM outreach, actively supporting initiatives that inspire and encourage the next generation of engineers. Her dedication to both her professional development and wider industry engagement has been recognised through her selection as a finalist for the CIBSE ASHRAE Graduate of the Year Award 2025 and the Engineering Talent Awards Engineering Graduate of the Year 2026.

Treasurer Assistant: Zaid Baquain

Zaid Baquain is a Specification Engineer at IMI Climate Control, specialising in hydronic HVAC solutions for commercial buildings. A Mechanical Engineering background from Brunel University London, he combines technical knowledge with a practical understanding of the building services industry.

His role centres on supporting consulting engineers throughout the design process, providing guidance on valve selection, pressurisation systems and hydronic design to help deliver efficient, reliable and balanced HVAC systems. He focuses on  smart valve technology and how digital solutions can improve energy performance and optimise building operation.

Outside of his professional role, Zaid is a member of the CIBSE YEN London Treasury team, where he supports the delivery of events and initiatives that bring together young engineers from across the building services industry. He is passionate about giving back to the profession, encouraging collaboration, and helping inspire the next generation of engineers.

Head of Communications: Ayomide Erinle, RSHP

Ayomide is a Sustainability Analyst at RSHP, working at the intersection of sustainability, building performance, and architectural design. Her work focuses on integrating environmental analysis and carbon conscious thinking into projects from the earliest design stages, supporting a holistic and design-led approach to sustainability.

She previously worked at Hollis as a Junior ESG Consultant, where she specialised in EPCs, operational energy analysis, and building performance assessments to support the transition toward low carbon and net zero buildings across existing assets.

Ayomide graduated from the University of the West of England with a dual accredited degree in Architecture and Environmental Engineering. Her interests lie in bridging technical analysis with design thinking, particularly in the areas of environmental performance, embodied carbon, and early-stage sustainability strategy.

Communications Officer: Jade Patel, Hilson Moran

Jade Patel is a Graduate Design Consultant in the Sustainability Team at Hilson Moran. She holds an MEng in Architectural Environmental Engineering from the University of Nottingham and is particularly interested in building performance and sustainable design.


Jade's work focuses on WELL certification and building physics, with experience in EPC assessments, Part L compliance, and thermal comfort modelling. She is also actively involved in coordinating policy consultations within Hilson Moran.


Jade believes YEN has the power to broaden perspectives and foster connections with like-minded engineers.

Communications Assistant: Jacob Weller, BSB Engineering

Jacob is a Business Development Graduate at BSB Engineering, where he provides technical support to M&E consultants, helping them interpret specifications, understand technical schedules, and navigate the evolving requirements of the Building Safety Act. Having studied Politics and Public Policy at university, he has developed a strong interest in building safety and the regulatory landscape shaping the built environment.

Alongside his professional role, Jacob supports the CIBSE YEN Communications team, drawing on his previous experience in television production to create short- and long-form video content that showcases the work of the network and promotes knowledge sharing across the industry.

He is passionate about raising awareness of fire safety and supporting the next generation of engineers through clear communication, collaboration, and the sharing of technical knowledge.

Communications Assistant: Ismaila Chongan, Cudd Bentley 

Ismaila Chongan is a Sustainability Engineer at Cudd Bentley Consulting and serves as an Assistant Communications Officer for the CIBSE YEN London Region. He specialises in building performance, energy modelling and sustainable design, supporting projects across the residential and commercial sectors.

Alongside his engineering career, Ismaila has built a large online audience through content creation, developing expertise in digital storytelling, video production and audience engagement. Through his role within the Communications Team, he aims to utilise these skills to help make engineering and sustainability more accessible to younger audiences, while promoting the work of young professionals across the building services industry. He is passionate about knowledge sharing, networking and inspiring the next generation of engineers who will help shape the future of the built environment.

Publicity Lead: Tom Bull, AECOM

Tom is a mechanical engineer at AECOM. In July 2023 he graduated from his degree in Architectural Environment Engineering (MEng) from the University of Nottingham which included an industrial placement year, also at AECOM.  At AECOM Tom primarily works on healthcare, laboratory and defence projects and he has a special interest in implementing sustainable design practices into these settings and using new/emerging technologies to improve the way we work.

Tom has been attending YEN events since joining AECOM as a grad and has found these events to be an excellent opportunity for personal development and meeting like-minded young engineers in the industry. He joined the committee two years ago as a general member and is now serving his second year as publicity lead, which involves writing longer form content and facilitating collaboration with other networks.

Publicity Assistant: Jake Tablada, AECOM

Jake Tablada is a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at AECOM and serves as a Publicity Assistant for CIBSE YEN London. He holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, graduating in 2025 after completing an industrial placement year at AECOM.


Jake works within the Building Engineering team at AECOM, delivering sustainable and decarbonisation-focused projects across the commercial, government and healthcare sectors. He is currently working towards CIBSE Chartership.


Having recently entered the industry, Jake joined the CIBSE YEN London committee to connect with young engineers across the sector and build his industry network. He is passionate about promoting building services to a wider audience, highlighting the career opportunities available, and inspiring the next generation of engineers to get involved.

Secretary Assistant: Serra Ardor, HTA

Serra is a Junior Building Physics & Sustainability Consultant at HTA Design and recently joined the YEN London Committee as the Secretary Assistant. She is passionate about bridging the gap between architecture and engineering to deliver sustainable, healthy and inclusive buildings, and enjoys collaborating across disciplines to integrate environmental engineering throughout the design process. 

After completing an MSc in Environmental Design and Engineering at UCL, following a background in architecture. In her current role, she provides building physics and sustainability consultancy from concept design through to technical delivery. Her experience spans energy and dynamic thermal modelling, operational and embodied carbon assessments, daylight and microclimate analysis, and the development of low-carbon design strategies. 

Serra is actively involved in supporting the next generation of built environment professionals through CIBSE YEN and ENGRL: Girls in Engineering. She was awarded Runner-Up in the CIBSE Undergraduate of the Year Awards 2025 and achieved second place in the REHVA European Student Competition 2026.

STEM Outreach Lead: Ikechukwu Umeokoli, AtkinsRéalis

Ikechukwu is a Mechanical Engineer at AtkinsRealis, specialising in the nuclear sector, where he contributes to the design and development of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for complex engineering projects. He holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Warwick.


He has a strong interest in sustainable HVAC design and is committed to continuously developing his technical expertise through both structured training and self-directed learning. In addition, he is expanding his capabilities in Python programming to support HVAC applications, including system optimisation and performance analysis.


Alongside his technical role, Ikechukwu serves as the STEM Outreach Lead for the CIBSE YEN London Committee. In this capacity, he delivers impactful outreach initiatives that connect students with the building services industry, fosters partnerships with universities and STEM organisations, and creates opportunities for mentorship and early career development. Through this work, he adds value by raising awareness of the profession and helping to build a more accessible and diverse talent pipeline for the industry.

STEM Outreach Officer: Saanil Joshi, Fosters & Partners

Saanil Joshi is a Senior Vertical Transportation Engineer at Foster + Partners and currently serves as the STEM Outreach Officer of the CIBSE YEN London Region. He graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He worked as an Senior Electrical Engineer in the Bay Area for 3 years before moving to the UK. 

At CIBSE YEN London, Saanil supports STEM Outreach events and activities by organizing and hosting STEM events for universities and high schools. He is passionate about introducing STEM, CIBSE and the built environment to students especially women and underrepresented groups with limited exposure to STEM. 

Professionally, he now specialises in vertical transportation engineering, focusing on the movement of people within complex buildings. He uses simulation modelling to optimise system performance and enhance user experience, delivering solutions for major international projects such as airports. His work blends engineering, data and human behaviour to create efficient, resilient systems. Saanil also mentors early-career engineers and contributes to knowledge sharing within his organisation.

STEM Outreach Assistant: Claryhs Radford, Beijer Ref /MHI

Claryhs is an Area Sales Manager at Beijer Refrigeration, specializing in Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) air conditioning and heating solutions. With a strong focus on delivering energy-efficient, high-performance climate control systems, Claryhs works closely with customers, installers, and industry partners to provide expert guidance and tailored solutions for both residential and commercial applications.


Committed to building lasting relationships and delivering exceptional customer service, Claryhs combines technical product knowledge with a practical understanding of market needs. Whether supporting new projects or helping clients find the right heating and cooling solution, the goal is always to provide reliable products backed by professional advice and dedicated support.


Claryhs become a member of the STEMazing academy back in 2023 & this is where her passion for helping & education the younger generation about the Building Service sector come into play. Since then, she has joined CIBSE YEN as a STEM outreach assistant to help reach the CIBSE Yen goal of encouraging the younger generation to join the Building services industry & become members of CIBSE YEN.

STEM Outreach Assistant: Rakib Ahmed, Savills

Rakib Ahmed is a Graduate Engineer at Savills M&E Consultancy and serves as STEM Outreach Assistant for the CIBSE YEN London Committee for 2026/27.

Rakib graduated from Queen Mary University of London in July 2024 with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering. During his time at university, Rakib studied for his dissertation, Modelling and Simulating Building Energy Efficiency, to investigate fuel poverty. This introduced him to the field of building services and to the importance of decarbonising the built environment in tackling fuel poverty.

During his graduate scheme at Savills, Rakib has worked within a multidisciplinary team on large-scale projects, taking design ownership of MEP systems from concept through to construction. His role focused heavily on sustainable engineering, including leading feasibility studies for District Heat Networks, conducting Net Zero Carbon Audits, and ensuring compliance with BREEAM and EPC standards. He coordinated closely with architects and sustainability teams to deliver integrated design solutions and prevent asset stranding.

Social Events Lead: Harry Jones, Schako

Harry is a Specification support engineer at SCHAKO, a manufacturer of HVAC components and systems. In his role, he supports mechanical engineers with tailored product selections and assists in system design.

Harry has found YEN a valuable space to better understand the priorities and challenges faced by engineers across the industry and he looks forward to contributing to YEN's ongoing growth and impact.

Social Events Officer: Sri Yaswanth Ammanabrolu (Yash), QODA Consulting

Yash is a Senior Sustainability Consultant in the Central Sustainability team at QODA Consulting, collaborating closely with the MEP team across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, healthcare, and motorsport. He serves as a general member of the CIBSE YEN London Committee, with a strong interest in creating a balance between engaging networking events and immersive technical discussions that encourage both learning and social interaction.

He completed his B.Tech in Digital Techniques in Design and Planning in India before progressing to an MSc in Building Performance Engineering at the University of Nottingham. His experience across both regions has helped shape a broad understanding of diverse design approaches and sustainability practices.

Yash’s portfolio includes compliance and operational modelling, carbon calculations and statements, comfort and daylight assessments, and decarbonisation strategies aligned with CIBSE and ASHRAE guidance. His experience also spans BREEAM, LEED, and Passivhaus frameworks. He recently hosted an event focused on embodied carbon and continues to work towards becoming an Asset Optimisation Specialist, alongside pursuing LCEA, NABERS accreditation, and chartership.

Social Events Officer: Patrycja Sedor, Bring Energy

Patrycja Sędor is a Densification Manager at Bring Energy, where she leads the development of heat network connections across East London. She holds an MSc in Building Services Engineering from Brunel University and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), as well as holding CIBSE CP1 accreditation. In 2026 she was recognised in the CIBSE 30 Under 30.


She manages the full development lifecycle of new connections — from commercial negotiation and planning policy engagement to financial modelling and stakeholder management — with a focus on decarbonisation and the evolving regulatory landscape for heat networks in London.


Prior to joining Bring Energy, Patrycja contributed to carbon capture and hydrogen projects at KEW Technology and completed an international graduate programme with IMI Hydronic Engineering across Switzerland, Poland, Hungary, and Germany.


As Social Events Officer for the CIBSE YEN London Committee and a mentor through the Heat Exchanger Mentoring Programme, she is committed to supporting the next generation of building services engineers through community building, knowledge sharing, and advocacy for sustainable energy in the built environment.

Social Events Assistant: Kate Millington, AERMEC UK

Katie Millington is a Commissioning Manager for Aermec UK within the Data Center division, overseeing sites across multiple countries in Europe. After beginning her career in the HVAC sector in sales, she quickly transitioned into commissioning management to further develop her career within the industry. Coordinating between engineers and data centres, she supports the progression and sign-off of chillers through various stages of installation.

Katie has been attending CIBSE events for nearly two years and has now taken the step to join the committee. She hopes to help develop the Social Team by creating memorable events that encourage and engage both current and future CIBSE members.

Technical Events Lead: Gabbi Amaya, ARUP

Gabbi is an Energy Modelling Consultant at Arup and serves as a general committee member for CIBSE YEN London. She holds an MEng degree in Architectural Engineering from Heriot Watt University. 

Since joining CIBSE YEN after moving to London last summer she has enjoyed organising technical events, and helping guide the direction of the committee in a variety of ways, as well as meeting other young engineers at events and sharing knowledge particularly on sustainable design practices in industry.

Technical Events Officer: Aashika Shibu, Etude

Aashika is an Environmental Designer and Passivhaus Consultant with a background in architecture. She has experience in predictive energy modelling, low-carbon design strategies, Part L compliance, and whole life carbon assessment. She enjoys using detailed modelling and analysis to assess building performance and support fabric-first design.


She graduated from The University College London (UCL) in 2022 with a Masters in Environmental design and Engineering and has been recognised in CIBSE's 30 under 30, batch of 2025. She has been part of the CIBSE YEN London committee since the last two years, acting as the Secretary in the last year.

Technical Events Assistant: Andrei Popescu, BG&E

Andrei is a Senior Façades Engineer at BG&E, bringing a cross-disciplinary background that spans façade engineering, quality assurance, and construction management across projects in London, Hamburg, and Dublin. He holds a BEng in Aerospace Systems Engineering, a foundation that instilled a rigorous analytical approach which he now applies to the design and engineering of complex building envelopes.


In his current role, Andrei works at the intersection of façade performance, building physics, and construction delivery, with a particular interest in how envelope design contributes to the broader sustainability agenda — from thermal efficiency and embodied carbon to occupant comfort and long-term building performance.


As Technical Events Assistant for CIBSE YEN London, Andrei is keen to create events that bridge disciplines and bring together young engineers from across the built environment sector. He believes that some of the most valuable learning happens at the boundaries between specialisms, and hopes to curate technical sessions that reflect the breadth and ambition of the next generation of engineers.
