CIBSE Golden Thread series explores the scale and implementation of the Building Safety Act

CIBSE launched its brand new Golden Thread series at the RIBA on 14 September, with keynote speakers, Dr Hywel Davies, CIBSE Technical Director and Chair of the Building Regulations Advisory Committee, and Hanna Clarke, Digital and Policy Manager for the Construction Products Association (CPA). There were also several presentations and panel discussions with representatives from the British Standards Institution (BSI), the National Fire Chiefs Council, London and Quadrant Housing Association, Foster + Partners and Arup, amongst others.

Delivering Net Zero Carbon in the Workplace

As part of a project for the British Council for Offices (BCO), the aim of this survey is to (i) identify the barriers that businesses face as they strive to pursue a path to Net Zero carbon emissions in the commercial real estate sector, and (ii) seek feedback on where the opportunities lie and how organisations can navigate the demands of regulators and other stakeholders.

2022 review of CIBSE Climate Action Plan highlights the ongoing impact of building services engineers in delivering net zero

CIBSE has long been active on the topic of climate change mitigation and adaptation, linking it to building performance. To increase our efforts, in July 2019 CIBSE produced its first Climate Action Plan, mapping our current and planned activities in the areas where we have a duty and the ability to act as a professional institution. CIBSE committed to reviewing the plan regularly, and this Summer 2022 version is the third annual update.
