Reliability in Critical Power Supplies: This challenges the assumptions and interferences implied by the common measures of reliability published by the manufacturers of critical power supply systems. Examines the widely used measures of reliability and offers alternatives that offer more realistic tools for assessing and quantifying failure modes and their associated risks.

Emergency Lighting Systems: Provides an introduction to the regulatory framework and standards. Compares the two main solutions; "Self-contained" and "Central Power Supply" systems. Explains the topology of CPS, and the impact of various lighting loads. Discusses the important differences between "UPS" and "CPS", and the problems that motor drives for emergency services can pose to CPS.

The Modular Revolution: Examines the traditional solutions for ensuring continuity of power to critical loads, from single UPS to parallel systems. It analyses these topologies from the aspect of cost, reliability, efficiency, etc. It then considers the alternatives offered by Modular systems.

Battery Fusing in Power Conversion Applications: Modern UPS and Emergency Lighting Systems are dependent on VRLA battery systems to provide continuity of current to their inverters when the utility supply fails. This CPD seminar may be of interest to consultants and engineers who may be purchasers or specifiers of UPS, Emergency Lighting Static Inverters and Central Battery Systems, PV systems, EV charging solutions and Battery storage systems.
