From the editor

We are really excited to welcome you to the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) latest online quarterly publication ENGineering Buildings – Australia and New Zealand's most popular Building Services Engineering publication.

As I'm writing this, I'm attending the Tertiary Education Management Conference, attended by over 800 delegates. Education is a world of opportunity and all about lifelong learning. The amount of research and work being presented by education facilities, architectural practises, manufacturers and consultants, is phenomenal and only emphasises the importance each and every one of us plays in moulding the future engineers of tomorrow. The theme of this issue of ENGineering Buildings revolves around Education.   We are fortunate enough to feature two leading Architectural practises in this issue, exploring current learning spaces. It's fantastic to learn how these inspiring spaces are performing in regards to their flexibility, health and well-being.

ENGineering Buildings covers news, views and a range of technical articles – they will appeal to all Building Services Engineers and like-minded professionals.

We hope you enjoy our latest quarterly publication, if you feel inspired to contribute to the next issue, or have any suggestions or feedback, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Your CIBSE ANZ Colleagues are mindful of the extensive geographical covering of our region, and understand the difficulties that many have attending local Chapter seminars. We are prioritising to bring every opportunity to improve your knowledge and keep on top of your Continued Professional Development (CPD) requirements – whether it be from your home, workplace or travelling to or from work – so make sure you check out ENGineering Buildings, our Talking Buildings Podcasts and our soon to be launched online training – Building Blocks.

It has never been a better time to be a building services engineer……

Paul Angus
CIBSE Australia and New Zealand Chair
